CUBAN CIGARS
Real Cuban CigarsHow do you recognise which are the genuine Cuban cigars? It is estimated that around 95% of so-called Cuban cigars in the USA are fake. Since 1963 when the US Government went into a sulk, banning the import of anything Cuban, there has not been a genuine Cuban cigars agent in the USA, so therefore, no-one can compare what they have bought from a Cuban friend of a friend in a car park, with a real cuban cigar. For instance, some companies sow Cuban cigar seeds in another country but forget to tell you that the soil is different! To help you recognise wherether you are about to buy real cuban cigars, visit The Cigar Nexus whose vast experience with Cuban, and other cigars, will start to give you an idea of what to watch out for when looking for a genuine, real cuban cigars. The site has been non-profit making on purpose, to preserve their un-biased reputation but sadly, as the three site owners have families and 'proper jobs' that must come first, they have decided to, reluctantly, leave the site on 'hold' for now. Maybe they will add to it in the future; we can only hope so and wish them all good fortuned and thank them for allowing us to benefit from their massive personal investment. Hoyo de Monterrey Double Coronas:If the Rose Bowl is considered the grand daddy of all college football bowl games, then the Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona might be considered the grand daddy of all cigars. In fact, this cigar received the highest rating ever by Cigar Aficionado magazine a few years back. What was particularly interesting to note during our sampling was the fact this cigar was available in a choice of light or dark wrapper. Given that our tastes tend to be more sophisticated, we chose the darker shade and boy...we were not disappointed at all. The cigar--which can easily take more than an hour to finish--had a very consistent draw and complex flavor characteristics that seemed to changed constantly throughout. There was a pleasant aroma that also accompanied the cigar. A box of these cigars can easily fetch $600.00 or more on the streets of the United States . This is a very classy cigar--even the label is a piece of cigars in the entire world.Siglo V:This full-bodied Cohiba has a slightly spicy tinge, a complex flavor, and a smooth draw.
